Great service and sangria. Recommend reserving ahead of time for larger parties but great food, affordable and quality is on point!

We ate Paella 🥘 de Mariscos - Seafood Paella with calamari, shrimp, clams and mussels. I tried it for the first time and I absolutely loved it. The place is usually crowded, expect slow service.

This place is just as delicious as Esperpento! Owned by the same owner its delicious! Two thumbs up on all the tapes and paella. 👌👍👍

Coworker told them it was my birthday even though it wasn't. The mariachi band sang and the whole restaurant joined in. Then they brought me a free flan. Everything was delicious. 10/10 will definitely go again

The great energy in this lively place will make for a fun night. The price point is right. The sangria is a hit. The mushrooms, grilled shrimps, any other veggies were stellar. I would pass on the lobster even though we ordered two. We love the place and will be back soon!

Awesome place for happy hour tapas, sangrias, and oysters. The bread with the dipping sauce is ridiculously addictive, and I am a big fan of the garlic shrimp, fried anchovies, and potato omelette. Paella was ok--not the best I have had, but not bad by any means. It's definitely worth coming here to explore the tasty tapas menu and binge on oysters and sangria!

Outstanding and authentic tapas in a festive atmosphere. Affordable, friendly, and great service. Highly recommended. The only caveat is that everybody is using their Sangria Voice, so it's really loud.

The best happy hour spot in the Mission, by my estimate. I always get the oysters and a glass of sangria, but they have a much more expansive menu.

The staff is quite knowledgeable about the menu and answered all my questions, my waiter had a great sense of humor and really lighted the mood of the group I was with! The food had excellent taste, and each dish contained extraordinary flavors. Great Tapas place!

Loved the Paella!

This is the place you would go to if you didn’t make a reservation for a group on the larger side. You really can’t beat the price of their happy hour sangria carafe

Yummy! Pretty filling for a tapas place and good value. That salsa is delicious. Calamari good. Oxtail good. Artichoke got some between my teeth bothered me for a long time after... bring floss! Clams are large and juicy. The potato with salsa / potato pancake good but too much potato for 2 people - I'd only order this for larger groups.

Picaro has been around for a long time and there are good reasons, such as the calamari, the sangria and the sea food platter.

Sangrai carafe and Vegetarian paella along with lots of vegetarian tapas options, this place is amazing.

Classic Spanish tapas in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Excellent service, plenty of delicious traditional Spanish fare to sample and share. The best sangria in San Francisco!

Came here specifically for the $1 oysters which is available 7 days a week. I didn't catch the name/type of oysters, but what they had that day was amazing. The oysters didn't need any sauce and were perfect on their own. They also had cheap sangria carafes during happy hour. Enjoyed some of their other seafood tapas as well and all of it was wonderful. We went Sunday at 4p when they opened and they were packed by 4:30p. Definitely come early.

Bussy place a lot of people and to noise.Service is good.Good sangria, remind me what I make.Rabo de toro, tortilla de papas, iberico ham. Good portion and flavor.Seafood and meat paella, mmmm........Can be better, no caramelized rice (socarrat) in the bottom of the paellera, they don't use bomba rice, real piquillo pepper, whole prawn and sofrito to make the Paella.No octopus in the menu. I know they have so many others option but octopus is a classic Spanish dish.Now I asked my self, if I comeback ....I'm not to sure about it. I need to thinking more than twice to make my decision.Why 4 starts, service,tapas, and sangria.

Excellent atmosphere. Amazing tapas. The asparagus was particularly nom, and the paella was top-notch. As was the sangria. Don't even get me started about the desserts! Needless to say, we all left with very full, very happy tummies!

The food was very good. The owners and staff were very friendly. We had the paella, garlic shrimp, chroquettas, and potato torta. Will definitely go again.

I haven't been to that many Spanish restaurants , but I couldn't help but recommend Picaro to everyone. It is simply amazing, as a restaurant and a place to spend a night out.We ordered the sangria, grilled asparagus, croquettes, squid ink paella, and fresh oysters. Everything was delicious and delicate! Service was friendly and quick, and the ambiance was relaxing and cheerful. Pricing was also reasonable for the high food quality. Be sure to arrive early as Picaro is filled pretty quickly!

Their food is amazing! From oysters, soup, and paella for sure. It was very crowded and many people lined up to enter on the Friday night. I surely recommend you to make a reservation in advance.

The best fish sticks I have ever had! You have to order the sardines and eat them with all of the tasty extras included on the plate. This restaurant was a friend's pick. He comes back for the garlic chicken which was very tender and served in a light red sauce. We also got the trout which was a huge portion. It was breaded and very rich, but a wonderful, light seasoning overall. The carafe of Sangria was well priced, however nothing too fancy. Each table is given sliced bread with thick, orange dipping sauce. It has a light pepper essence but mostly tastes like garlic on crack! Don't eat it if you are on a date, but definitely take it to go! The menu was quite extensive, so I will have to go back to try some different tapas.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the the city. Fairly priced and really tastey. Love tapas because you get a couple bites of a lot things. Be ready to wait because they don't take reservations but once you order, the food comes fast and all of a sudden you have a table full of yummy! Go here!

The food is Amazing the atmosphere although very very busy, the staff does keep up doing their best to accommodate and make you feel welcome. The time is so worth the experience.

The food here was great. It really was. We got a few of the tapas, the black sausage was by far the best. Which is what makes me so sad my wife and I had such a bad experience! They at as at kind of an odd table in the middle of a busy walkway. My wife got a whole glass of sangria dumped all over her. It was really unfortunate. They replaced the glass but it left a bad taste. After that another basket of bread got dumped on the ground from our table.To be fair the main waiter was super apologetic and he came back at the end and said he felt bad about everything.

Came to this place many times. This is one of the best Tapas places in SF and the entire Bay Area. Very vibrant. Great food and drinks. And above all great price. A must visit.

Great place for tapas. Enjoyed the atmosphere and neighborhood. Doesn't have liquor license, so only beer, wine and great sangria.

You can have a good meal for a decent price but food is just OK, with too much garlic and the place is very noisy. If you are into Spanish food, there are better options in San Francisco

I'm not local at all but every time I'm in SF I HAVE to go Picaro! Amazing paella and sangria. Service is top notch. Cannot praise them anymore. Come hungry, a must try

great sauce. Nice place fro tapas and sangria. Make sure to get there for happy hours. We had the Gambas al ajío, papas bravas, pinchos and manchego cheese tapas.

Loud dinning area, average food for the price.

After watching a student film event, we walked across the street for lunch. Service isn't the greatest, we waited several minutes, even when someone saw us, before they even bothered to tell us to sit any where. Then there was a long wait for someone to take our order.The most outstanding dish was the grilled artichokes. I was very surprised that it wasn't artichokes halved and grilled into some dry sad dish. Instead, they thinly sliced and grilled artichoke hearts. It was fantastic. I really enjoyed the beet salad, except for the large chunks of white mushrooms. The dressing and seasoning was really good. The other dishes were ok, the fried red snapper had lots of bones. The calamari was good, but nothing to write home about. I had asked about oysters but they were all out.This is a very casual place, service is horrible, but food is good. I'd go back and suffer getting ignored just for another order of grilled artichokes.

The food here is very good. We had a large party for a birthday celebration and they handled it very well. Six of our group split an order of the paella; they enjoyed it and it was enough to satisfy all six and leave leftovers. The garlic chicken was also good.

Really enjoyed the ambiance. The sangria was yummy! I enjoyed the salmon strips, albondigas. Blessed that my friends know where to eat
